Find statistics about families and population in Australia. Look at the people and communities and population topics to find statistics on families, marriage, divorce, births and other subjects. The year books contain summaries of regions, eg New South Wales in Focus, which includes detailed statistics about families in NSW.

Find reports and statistics on a broad range of family related topics, including types of families, marriage, living together, divorce, and children. You will also find the journal Family matters which contains detailed articles.

The Children’s Court is a specialist court that deals with criminal cases, applications for apprehended violence orders, applications for compulsory schooling orders and cases involving the care and protection of children. Find a range of resources, including court judgements, fact sheets and Children’s Law News - which contains links to important cases dealing with children.

Find information about family law, including separation and divorce, parenting, property, court orders, family violence, and the court process.
